How Can We Control Cholesterol and Triglycerides?

It is quite possible that an overweight person, who has a high level of cholesterol, will also have very high level of triglyceride. The type of food that you eat and the lifestyle that you maintain is the common thread between cholesterol and triglycerides.

The chemical triglyceride is the body's way of storing excess fat from food for future use. There are a lot of things that can be done to reduce your cholesterol and triglycerides. An important step is to figure out if the foods you eat and the type of life you live influences your cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Much information is available regarding the various types of foods that you could consume for maintaining optimum levels of cholesterol and triglycerides. Your first task should be to gather as much as information as you possibly can about the food that you consume which pose challenges for maintaining acceptable cholesterol levels.

Implementing a meal plan that would improve your cholesterol levels and reduce your chance for heart disease would be beneficial. It is critical to be aware of the differences between foods that are problem foods for high cholesterol and those that are helpful in promoting better heart health.

A lot of people don't know about the types of foods that can make their cholesterol levels higher. When you are educated about the types of foods that can cause trouble you can substitute these foods with more wholesome alternatives. Don't forget that you should be exercising for at least thirty minutes a day for five days a week so that you can achieve lower levels of cholesterol and triglycerides. Exercise will work wonders for your body and will also make you feel fresh and full of energy. Start a thirty minutes brisk walking exercise to make you feel better if you are feeling fatigued and lethargic most of the time. You will really be amazed the wonderful effect of exercise on your body and energy levels.

Dieting and exercising are just two of the methods that you can use to reduce your cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Certainly, your physician can give you a prescription medicine that will decrease the level of your cholesterol. But, if you take control of your own health and well being by watching what you eat, this is the best thing you can do to be on the road to a healthier and happier life. - 16004
