Each new breakthrough in technology promises us more leisure time. But, those promises are invariably broken.
And, our crammed full schedlues are one of the chief reasons that many of us neglect our health. What should be a high priority sometimes get pushed to the bottom of the pile. But, we can change that.
Even busy folks can actively maintain and improve their health. And it does not take a lot of time or great discipline.
Here are some pretty easy health tips.
1. Set modest goals. You don't have to be ready for the NFL or the WNBA in a week. If your goals are attainable you're more likely to persevere.
2. Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week. Break your exercise time into two fifteen minute segments if you do not have a 30 minute block available. Your lunch hour is a great time to walk, as is early morning.
3. Do not go more than 4 hours without eating. Nutritious, low calorie snacks can help you prevent overeating.
4. Take a good multivitamin every day.
5. If losing weight is a goal, understand that even a modest reduction in calories (100 daily) can help you drop 10 pounds in a year.
6. Eat something or use a supplement that will deliver Omega 3 fatty acid. It's one of the best things you can do for yourself.
7. Be sure to get a full night's sleep; you'll have more energy, your resistance will be higher, and you may well feel less stress.
If you have the time, self-discipline, and motivation, there is much more you can do. But, you have to start somewhere, and for those of us not now doing much about our health, the tips above are a good start. - 16004
