I've seen Colotox advertised more on the internet and decided it was time to do a review. As always, I looked at the product itself first and then focused on the company behind the product to see what we were dealing with. I'm sure glad that I did, because Colotox seems to be up there with the worst colon cleanse operations that I've seen.
Colotox, as a product, appears to be your average colon cleanser. Naturally it includes quite a few fiber-based ingredients and some others. I imagine that the product is no better than other alternatives out there, but the ingredients do look ok.
Colotox seems to have followed the poor example of many other colon cleansing products by engaging in a sales practice known as an autoship. Autoships themselves aren't necessarily bad, but it's the way the companies use them that can quickly turn them into a scam. Colotox's autoship goes like this: if you get the free trial, you have 14 days to call and cancel the autoship program. If you don't, they will charge you $38.95 every month and start mailing you monthly supplies. Doesn't sound so bad right? Well it wouldn't be if they were upfront about people enrolling in the program. Instead, they hide in the fine print of their terms and conditions where most people won't even read it. Imagine their surprise as they start to see charges that they didn't know where going to hit their credit card. Or you can search some of the complaint boards online if you don't want to image, there are plenty of angry customers detailing their experience.
It was even more alerted when I saw their return policy. It appears that you are charged a 15% restocking fee for all returned items. And according to some of the complaint boards on the internet, there have been quite a few that have had a hard time even contacting the company to request a refund.
To get a better feel for the company behind the product, I've found the Better Business Bureau to be a pretty good source. In Colotox's case, the BBB didn't seem too sympathetic. They rated them as an 'F.' In addition, I found a complaint filed with Arizona Attorney General's office that said that the company behind Colotox (Central Coast Nutraceuticals Inc.) was engaging in deceptive and misleading advertising and sales practices.
In summary, Colotox should be avoided at all costs. If you aware of the autoship, restocking fee, and poor customer service and you still want to purchase Colotox, then go right ahead. But unfortunately most people will get taken advantage of by these shady business practices. - 16004
