Young looking skin is a constant goal for many of us ladies - and for an increasing number of you men out there. Wrinkle free, luminous, healthy skin just looks more attractive and it also makes us feel wonderful.
For many of us, as we get older, this takes a little work and the application of anti aging products that give nature and our own natural beauty a little help in the right direction.
Our problem is which products work and which are, to put it mildly, a complete and utter waste of money. How do we know what anti aging products to use without spending 100's and even 1000's of dollars on trial and error? It's not as if we can just trust the media and cosmetic companies to come clean with us!
What we can do is to take a close look at the ingredients that we know are beneficial for the anti aging process and have a positive influence on our skin care regime. And just as importantly, we can look at what they do not contain.
My very first recommendation is that any products we use should be mineral oil free. Mineral oil, a petroleum based product, has been used for decades as a skin hydrating agent. While this sounds like a good thing for the skin, in fact it is not.
Mineral oil works by clogging the skin to keep in water. As we all know, clogging of the skin is not a good thing as it can lead to acne. Its long term use is for just one reason - it is very cheap to produce. I definately don't recommend its use and I don't recommend, the usually cheap products, that contain it.
In place of mineral oil we should be using products that have naturally occurring moisturizers such as jojoba, almond, wheat germ as these do not clog the skin and therefore let out those nasty little free-radical agents.
Also, niacin, the vitamin B complex, have been clinically proven to be an effective moisturizing and anti-aging substance. This actually restores skin cells. Seeing this ingredient, you know the product will have the right effect on your skin.
Your skin care program must be PH balanced. Whatever type of skin you have, adding acids or alkaline is not beneficial and must be avoided. You must also make sure your products are hypo-allergenic and formulated without the use of dyes and chemical fragrances.
Finally, and I am sure you know this already, you will not find everything in just one product. Reversing the effects of aging and keeping your skin in perfect condition will take several products. There just isn't one single product that does it all (don't we wish that were not true). You must use a proven system of skin care with products that completely match and complement one other. This is the best way to get the skin you want and deserve in a short space of time. - 16004
