5 More Easy Steps to Weight Loss

By Ada Denis

As I mentioned previously, anyone who says losing weight is easy is lucky. For many of us it is not easy and is an ongoing struggle.

However, while you might not like it, you need to lose weight right? Here are 5 more steps to help you along your path...

Remember, "One step at a time..." You've been a while in getting where you are today. Now, be patient. Change takes time. You can do this!

1. Drink water

Water is great for getting rid of toxins in your body. Water has no calories. Water is the elixir of life. Instead of drinking juice in the morning, soft drinks at lunch time, or wine with dinner, try substituting water for at least one of these meals or more. Water fills you up and keeps the calorie count down. GO Water!

2. Write down what you eat

What makes this easy is that, when you promise you will write things down, you will eat less so you have less to write!! Don't cheat!

3. Tell yourself ahead of time that you will not buy items from the checkout area in stores, the vending machines at the office, or the extra scone at the coffee spot or brownie at the lunch deli counter... We all know how they load those areas up with impulse items... candy bars, gum, breath mints, whatever... They all have calories and will go straight to that pot in the middle of your body. Say no ahead of time and remind yourself when you're checking out how smug you feel!

4. Get rest

Interestingly, your body reacts to limited rest by doing some strange things. For one, when your body is not adequately rested it believes it needs to help you "survive". It stores extra fat for the stress you're dealing with, believing that your health is compromised and you will need all the energy you can muster. Proper sleep is essential.

5. Be involved with others

Make time to help others. This will take you away from your own issues and maybe even help you get a better perspective on your life, your weight, and what is important in life. - 16004
