As a nutritionist, I can point out 3 of the important factors in Dr. Gudakunst's book that will in fact help you lose weight and keep it off for good. She discusses some of the mystery behind weight gain and why our lifestyles contribute to those obesity numbers.

Youve probably heard about colon cleansing. The internet is full of gimmicky claims about colon cleansing, but the fact is that colon cleansing can help you lose weight for a number of reasons. As Dr. Gudakunst points out, however, you cannot just use a colon cleanse or detox program and expect to lose weight if you dont keep your colon healthy through proper diet.

The majority of us have unhealthy colons because of the busy, hectic lives we lead that contribute to poor eating habits and sedentary ways. Your colon can contain as much as 25 pounds of dried fecal matter. This not only contributes to the number you see on the scale, but also to the level of toxicity in the rest of your body which has an effect on your ability to lose weight.

If your digestive system is in a slow, sluggish state due to excessive fecal material left in your colon, two things take place. Another reason why I think Top Secret Fat Loss Secret is fantastic advice is that she tells you what foods have done this to your colon in the first place so you can correct the problem for good. Our diets are high in refined carbohydrates and saturated fat, yet low in fiber.

Dr. Gudakunst recommends that you switch out the processed and refined carbs with nutrionally sound choices that contain plenty of fiber; however, she recommends that you do this over time rather than all at once. You need time to adapt to the change and by doing things the right way, you will learn to enjoy these foods and keep your colon healthy. This in turn will help your permanent weight loss efforts.
