Make Good Ab Workouts Great: 7 Hot Tips

Does it really have to be so difficult to find some good ab workouts? There is so much to choose from, so how will you know what is good? Let me give you some pointers to keep in mind when working your abs, and some great ab workouts.

1. If it doesn't feel like your abs are working, it's very unlikely that actually are. While you are doing the exercise you should be able to feel your abs pushing or pulling.

2. Concentrate while doing the exercise. Make sure you are really using your abs. Don't cheat by using the momentum, or by pulling with your arms or legs.

3. Get off from the floor. By using an exercise ball when doing your ab workouts you will strengthen your core, and not just one specific muscle. Your body will use more muscles to help you keep your balance, and prevent you from falling on the floor.

4. Here are some great ab workouts for you to try:

Toe Raises are a great ab exercise. Lie on the floor. Hands on your hips or by your sides. Lift you your legs up, pointing your toes towards the sky, and lower slowly. This is one repetition. Repeat 15 times.

V-Sit. Start with lying flat on the floor, with your hands by your sides. Lift your legs and your upper body at the same time, making a V with your body. Only your bottom should be on the floor. Slowly go back to the starting position. Do 10 repetitions. Or at least as many as you can manage.

5. But let's not forget about the most important ab workout - A Healthy Diet. That's right. What you put in your mouth will make the biggest difference on how your body looks. Start spoiling your body with healthy foods, such as whole grains, lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, and lots of fibres. And don't forget to drink water.

6. Make sure your workout is balanced. So if you are working your abs, remember to do your back muscles as well. This will help you get the best result, and not plateau in your training.

7. If you want a nice, toned six pack, or just a really flat stomach, you need to lower your body fat percentage. The best way to do this is to have a good aerobic program worked into your exercise routine.
