Lose Fat Build Muscle

By Dave Vower

Many people wonder how they can lose fat and build their muscles at the same time. There are those that believe that they will have to diet away the fat and lose the fat before they can begin building the muscles. There is no need to waste your valuable time. You can do both of these things at the same time if you eat right and work out in the right way.

One thing that you should know when you are getting started is that muscle weighs more than fat. You may not be able to see the weight loss on the scale when you are dieting and exercising for muscle gain. You will be getting leaner and turning your fat into muscle with your efforts.

It is also true that muscle builds fat more efficiently. This means that building muscle will actually help you to burn fat. If you are more concerned with the number on the scale then you may have to readjust the way that you think about fat loss.

Your body will shrink as you build muscle and burn fat. While you may not weigh less, you will look smaller. If you are still in need of weight loss, building your muscles will also help you to lose weight at the same time. Fat will not turn into muscle. Muscle will burn the fat.

What kinds of food do you put in your mouth to lose fat build muscle? If you are dieting, of course you want to reduce your caloric intake. Your diet should consist of lean proteins like chicken fish and beef. You should be eating fresh fruits and vegetables. You do need to have some fat too. Limit your self to three small amounts a day of butter, margarine or mayo. You can get healthy fats from sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews and pumpkin seeds. Do not forget the power of water, drink plenty of it.

Some people who are working on their muscles will need more protein in their diet. You will need the extra protein to compensate for what is burned off while you are building your muscles. There are many different ideas on where you can get the protein, but the evidence is clear that you should increase your intake if you are engaged in bodybuilding.

You only need more protein if you are a serious body builder or are into another form of extreme training. For a female who wants to lose a little weight and jests want to have a little muscle definition, you probably do not need to eat more protein. On the other hand, some experts say that that anybody who embanks on an exercise regime should consume more protein. Others say you only need more protein if you want to build body mass or if your diet is too low in carbohydrates.

There is plenty of information on the connection between nutrition and bodybuilding. Of course if you are a serious bodybuilder you should look for this information to help you determine the diet that you should be eating for the best possible results. - 16004
